Norwegian “eunuch maker” sentenced to life in prison: unnecessary amputations were filmed and sold online

The leader of a group that carried out medically unnecessary amputations and castrations was sentenced to life in prison in a London court on Thursday. He must remain behind bars for a minimum of 22 years. Some amputations were filmed and published on a paying website.

46-year-old Norwegian Marius Gustavson was the driving force behind a network that, driven by sexual gratification and commercial gain, carried out “dangerous, unnecessary and life-altering” operations on at least thirteen victims. This includes castrations and penis removals.

Gustavson, who called himself “the eunuch creator,” launched a site showing videos of these mutilations. The site had 22,000 subscribers and generated almost 300,000 pounds (almost 350,000 euros) between 2017 and 2021.

“Human Butchery”

Although the victims apparently consented to the removal of body parts, certain events could only be described as “quasi-human butchery,” according to Judge Mark Lucraft. “The uploaded footage was extremely explicit and was made available to paying subscribers for their sexual gratification. It was a large-scale, dangerous and extremely disturbing undertaking,” the judge said.

Gustavson also removed his own penis and amputated one of his legs. The Norwegian was even guilty of cannibalism. For example, there was clear evidence that he had cooked human testicles and served them in a salad. He also kept body parts in a freezer in his north London home and occasionally sold body parts.

A victim had gone to the police. According to him, the victims were drugged and persuaded to undergo surgery. Police subsequently arrested several gang members in London, Scotland and Wales. Six co-defendants were also tried on Thursday. They received prison sentences of 4.5 to 12 years.
