8. The Attack (1986)
The attack is of course a highlight of Dutch literature, but if you don’t feel like reading such a great book, you can always turn on this film. Fons Rademakers has managed to properly adapt a masterpiece of a book. The film follows Anton Steenwijk, who witnesses the murder of his family by Nazis during World War II after a failed assassination attempt on a Dutch collaborator. The first Dutch film to ever win the Oscar Best Foreign Film has won.
