The Vondelvallei project in Boutersem offers a varied range of 24 apartments, designed by architectural firm AST77. It fits within the municipality’s plans for the revaluation of the Kleine Vondelbeek valley in the heart of Boutersem. The aim of this project is to make the nature reserve accessible again to the residents of Boutersem via a network of slow roads and thus create more space for people, nature and water.

The location for the 24 apartments is the former Transmet site along the Leuvensesteenweg, between the KBC bank branch building and De Juwelier. All possible facilities such as banks, pharmacist, supermarket, Bpost, bus stops, station, … are in the immediate vicinity.

Two residential buildings

Two buildings will be built at this location perpendicular to the Leuvensesteenweg, which will provide access to the nature reserve behind it. The orientation of the buildings not only ensures tranquility, but also ensures maximum natural light in each home. One building has three floors and the other three floors and a recessed top. Both are constructed in a hybrid architectural style in order to achieve the most sustainable combination.

The network of slow roads around the nature reserve behind these buildings leads to the school in Vertrijk, the daycare center and the assisted living homes; the station of Vertrijk; bicycle highway 24 Leuven-Tienen; the church, the village square, the playground and the scout room.
