Police found the body of a 12-year-old girl in Paris on Friday evening. It was in a suitcase near the apartment building where the teenager lived. The girl, Lola, 12, had been reported missing by her parents in the afternoon because she hadn’t come home after school. One of the avenues that the police would investigate is that the girl has become a victim of organ trafficking. The autopsy revealed that she died of asphyxiation.
Local residents testify about the gruesome find in this video:
The gruesome discovery happened Friday evening around 11 p.m. in the 19th arrondissement of Paris. Police rushed into action after the mother reported her daughter’s failure to return from school at about 5:30 p.m. The father, who is the caretaker of the property in which they live, also told police that surveillance cameras show that she had returned to the property that afternoon.
The police discovered scotch tape, a knife and possibly other elements that indicated a kidnapping in the basement of the building where the family lives.
Woman of around 20 years
The police went looking for a girl with shoulder-length blond hair, frayed white jeans, a white hoodie, a sleeveless jacket and white sneakers. During the investigation, according to BFMTV, the police discovered on CCTV footage that a woman in her 20s was moving around the building with a heavy suitcase or carrying case, which she could hardly carry with her. She would have asked for help moving the suitcase to a vehicle. The police would question the mental health of that woman.
Organ trade
Her dead body was found curled up in the same suitcase around 11:30 PM, near the building where the teenager lived. The child was wrapped in swaddling clothes and tied by the hands and feet. She is said to have had scotch tape all over her face, as well as injuries to the neck. In the meantime, the autopsy shows that the girl died of asphyxiation.
Her body was also marked with the numbers ‘0’ and ‘1’. What was the purpose of that remains a great mystery for now. According to ‘Le Journal du dimanche’, the police would take into account the route of organ trafficking in its investigation.
BFMTV reports that the suitcase was found in rue d’Hautpoul, near the street where the girl lived, rue Manin, both in northeastern Paris. A homeless person made the macabre discovery Friday evening around 11 p.m. and informed the police.
Four arrests
The police have opened a murder investigation. On Saturday morning, according to ‘Le Parisien’ in Bois-Colombes, just outside Paris, four people were arrested in connection with the murder. According to French media, this does not necessarily concern suspects. Two more suspects were added in the course of Saturday afternoon, according to a source close to the file. Their role is also yet to be determined. The police want to investigate all possible avenues.
