In the Dutch village of Oost-Souburg (Zeeland), an incredible farce takes place around a school under construction. Earlier this year the construction had to be demolished because it was built turned 180 degrees, now it appears that the building is too close to the street.

The construction of primary school Tweemaster-Kameleon is not without a struggle. In May, a janitor discovered that the school had been built turned 180 degrees. At that time, the construction was not completely finished, but the roof was already on it, for example, NU.nl reports. It was decided to tear down the building and rebuild it.

That’s how it happened. But now a new problem arises: the school is about ten feet too close to the street. For the time being, the construction of Tweemaster Chameleon will continue, Alderman Coen Bertijn told Omroep Zeeland. “We are now investigating how this happened. And of course also: what is the result?”

The council is trying to find a solution. “Something around the school has to be adjusted anyway. But we cannot anticipate on whether the school has to be moved yet.” In the worst case, the school has to be demolished again. “That would be a horror scenario,” said Bertijn.
