Some bystanders helped a policewoman in a difficult situation in Willoughby, a city in the US state of Ohio. The lady had just stopped a man who was driving too fast, although the speed demon had no intention of being arrested just like that. Instead, he ignored the officer’s instructions, yelled at her and a struggle broke out.

Only when some eyewitnesses saw the confrontation take place did the situation come under control. A man immediately rushed towards the suspect to knock him to the ground. Together with the officer and three other civilians, they were able to overpower and handcuff him.

Local police chief Jim Schultz thanked the bystanders via Facebook for their courageous intervention. “I am very proud of our community and the support we receive every day,” he wrote. The aggressive man is charged with assault on a cop, excessive speed and not wearing a seat belt.
