Italy’s former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi is now also sharing videos on Tiktok. Italy has lowered voters’ age from 25 to 18, giving four million young adults the right to vote. Berlusconi hopes his videos will attract more younger voters.

The former leader of four Italian governments sat in the Chamber for many years. Berlusconi was elected to the Senate in early 2013. After a conviction for tax fraud, he had to leave it in November of the same year. Berlusconi was also banned from running for political office in the following six years.

Meanwhile, Berlusconi is still on trial for bribing witnesses in a 2014 case. He was then acquitted of paying an underage prostitute for sex.

Berlusconi’s right-liberal Forza Italia party is in the elections part of a conservative alliance with two far-right parties: Matteo Salvini’s Lega and Giorgia Meloni’s Brothers of Italy. The latter party scores by far the best in the polls and Meloni is tipped as the new Italian prime minister.
