With the expansion of NPO Start, programs that are broadcast linearly in the evening, among other things, can already be looked forward during the day. Until now, this was not possible because NPO Start is officially a service with which programs that were previously shown on NPO’s TV channels could be watched.

Earlier this year, the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) ruled that the expansion desired by NPO has limited effect on the markets in which NPO is active. The Media Authority and the Council for Culture also advised positively.

Programs especially for NPO Start

Uslu’s permission now also makes it possible to further expand the offer of the freely accessible platform NPO Start with programs specially made for the streaming service.

The first titles that will appear on NPO Start in the coming period include Pointer Checkt, in which fake news is investigated, a VIPS series by Au Pairs and a documentary series by Fidan Ekiz about the cancel culture.

Programs that until now could only be seen via the online channels of the broadcasters can now also be viewed via NPO Start.
