Youp van ‘t Hek sneers at fellow celebrity: ‘Camera addicted elderly person’

Youp occasionally targets a fellow celebrity. For example, he once called Femke Halsema a ‘jacket bitch’ because the cultural sector had to close during corona and he came up with a suitable punishment for grabber ‘Sywert van Lienden’, namely: listening to Lil Kleine all day in prison.

‘Oppressive kind of pity’

In it, the man with the round glasses takes a swipe at Maarten van Rossem, the historian who has appeared quite often on television in recent years. And Youp does have an opinion about the latter program. “The camera-addicted elderly person was wandering around with a young thing, who also needs a lot of attention due to a failed television program, and an oppressive kind of pity grabbed me by the throat,” says Van ‘t Hek, who feels ‘sorry for both of them’.

“I mainly looked at the camera-addicted elderly person, who was once a professor,” he continues, “and wondered who his advisors are. Is there another woman who wishes him luck if he goes out for this nonsense?”

‘Very sad’

In the VARA guide, Youp wonders for whom this program is ‘being made’. Finally, he gives Van Rossem unsolicited advice. From one old gray celebrity to another, we’ll just say: “Don’t do that anymore. It’s sad. Very, very sad.”

In the program by Maarten van Rossem (79) and Emma Wortelboer (26), the two look for generational differences. This is based on different themes such as holidays, sex and so on. For example, viewers saw the historian press a ‘satisfyer’ against his nose in one of the first episodes.
