Noa Vahle did not get around to processing her own grief during the period Voicescandal because she wanted to support her mother. This is what 23-year-old Vahle says in the LINDA.meiden Winter Book. ‘Now the roles were suddenly reversed. I was home a lot and called her more often.’
Jeroen Rietbergen, who had been in a relationship with Linda de Mol for years, was one of the four people where the infamous Angrybroadcast by Tim Hofman turned around. He immediately admitted to inappropriate behavior towards young women involved in the program. De Mol immediately ended the relationship, but received a lot of criticism. For example, it was suggested that De Mol must have been aware of Rietbergen’s transgressive behavior.
Vahle calls that period ‘terrible’, but thinks it is ‘the worst thing’ that her mother had to deal with hate reactions on a daily basis and people who believed that she could no longer return to the TV screen. According to Vahle, her mother had nothing to do with the entire event. “My mother is a strong woman, nothing could touch her. I was dreading that, but now the roles were suddenly reversed. I was home a lot and called her more often,” she explains. As a result, Vahle only later realized that she had not had time to process her own grief.
It eventually became too much for Vahle, so she decided to talk to a professional. Although she finds it difficult to reveal this, she also has to admit that she has benefited from it. “It does help: being able to tell your story somewhere and then leave it there for a while.”
Vahle is now focusing again on the fun things in life and De Mol is also happier in life again. Because, Vahle says, ‘after a while you have to move on’. Anger, sadness and disappointment are emotions that are still present. But Vahle also does not want to forget who Rietbergen was to her. Moreover, according to the sports reporter, Rietbergen has worked on himself. “I believe that people deserve a second chance. You just can’t just say: ‘Okay, now we’re all going back to normal.’ Something like that takes time.”
Spotted in Paris
Although Linda de Mol has broken off her relationship with Rietbergen, the two were spotted in Paris in February. There were also rumors that they would be together again. De Mol did not want to clarify her relationship status and stated that ‘no one owes an explanation’. “The only thing I want to say about it is that after a year I have come to the conclusion that I have something to figure out. And I want to leave it at that.”
