‘It didn’t help anything’
When the former vlogger is asked what she prefers to do, participating as a candidate or being a panel member, her answer is clear: “I prefer to guess who is in the suit. You can of course only participate in The Masked Singer once, you can guess all season long.” The presenter shares that she had a lot of fun during the recordings. “Although I was terrible at guessing. I thought: maybe it works to my advantage that I have been in such a suit myself, that I understand how the hints work and know some young names. But it didn’t help.”
Claustrophobic
Still, Monica is very impressed with the candidates who participated this year. “All participants did fantastic, especially considering how crazy warm and claustrophobic it is in such a suit.” Monica, who knows from her own experience how challenging it is to move normally in such an outfit, adds: “I know how hard it is to have to dance and sing in it. And how discouraging it is to hear after a week of rehearsing and learning choreographies: ‘Well, that flamingo is not a dancer…'”
