DRONTEN – The aftermath of Friday’s major power outage was still noticeable in Dronten last weekend and that will remain the case for a while on the track. In addition, there was a major accident on Elburgerweg on Saturday, in which no fewer than seven people were injured.

Big accident on Elburgerweg

A major accident happened on the Elburgerweg between Dronten and Elburg on Saturday morning. Just before the bridge at Elburg, the traffic lights did not work and it was presumably due to a priority error. Three cars collided with each other and emergency services rushed out en masse. Seven people were injured, some of them teenagers. The fire brigade also had to take action to free two people from their car. The seven injured were taken to hospital by ambulance.

No trains between Dronten and Lelystad for the time being

Are you traveling between Dronten and Lelystad by train? Then you have to take into account that there will be no trains until at least 15 September. Friday’s problems also left their mark on the track, ProRail speaks of ‘enormous damage’ and that a new prognosis will follow within a few days. ‘The expectation is that this forecast will shift further due to the extent of the damage. ProRail inspectors are currently investigating the exact damage together with maintenance contractor Strukton.

Much more damage

During the weekend, the power outage on Friday revealed much more damage. Intermediate meters of solar panels, extractor hoods and other electronic equipment, they cause interference or are even completely broken.
