Anderlecht have won a point against OH Leuven. The inhabitants of Brussels showed the most attacking drive, but it was all too static. Until Felice Mazzu threw in his joker: Julien Duranville. But if he wants to keep that trump in the deck, it’s either pick or deal.

Like this weekend, he won’t be able to do it every time at Anderlecht. On Friday, the 16-year-old lightning-fast winger played another half match against RWDM with the RSCA Futures. And on Sunday he had to fill in for the A-team. He scored his first goal in the series in both matches. So one in the Challenger Pro League and one in the Jupiler Pro League. He is the first to score in two professional leagues on the same weekend.

“Julien brought liveliness to the game,” said Felice Mazzu. “We were sometimes too static, yes. In the first half we forced too much through the center and played too little through the flanks. That was better in the second half.”

But how long can this take? Robin Veldman’s team has already been partly robbed, because Bouchouari and Colassin left. Anderlecht also want to cut a good figure in the Challenger Pro League. So Duranville is also important there. But of course the A-team will always take precedence. And you never know how long a boy like that is going to stay. So it could soon become a move to another dressing room for him.

‘L’Eclair’ will remain with the U23 for the time being. “For the time being, it can be combined. He only played 45 minutes, but in principle he was also allowed to play the entire match. It is only allowed in the opposite direction,” said Mazzu. “Whether he can physically handle that? You saw that today, didn’t you? We’ll see where we need him,” the trainer concluded.
