Formula 1 in Zandvoort not only attracts fans from our country, racing fans from all over the world come to our province. And what is striking: they all emphasize the atmosphere and nice people on the circuit. “It’s close to Germany and the people are really nice here,” a German race fan told our NH reporter on location.
The race fans are all in a good mood and praise Zandvoort for the atmosphere, people and the race. But not all of them are for Max Verstappen. “Ferrari, sorry, but I’m always for Ferrari,” said an English race fan dressed in the right kit.
The younger fans from abroad are also there. “I’ve only been watching Formula 1 since this year. It’s great here, the people too, really great.” Another German fan is also pleased with the people walking around the track. “There’s a great atmosphere here.”
And what is clear: Zantvoort is popular. “It’s a good place for Formula 1. The beach near the circuit, it couldn’t be better.”
Opinions differ as to who will be the winner. When asked if the German visitor is for Vettel, because he is from Germany, he answers: “I hope Mick Schumacher gets points. And that Verstappen wins. Then I have a great day.”
Two other German fans indicate that Vettel is their favorite. “This is his last year. Hopefully he will do better than yesterday.”
