In the podcast of the singing program, Jaap Reesema talks to the participants of Dear Singers about what happened at the hacienda. In the fourth episode, Nielson is a guest who talks about his theater show, idols and with whom he hopes to enter into a collaboration. Jaap also mentions the rap period of the singer-songwriter.

According to Nielson, he actually quit when he got well. Not much later, he was asked to join the group Zirkus Zirkus, which was almost signed by Gert Verhulst’s Studio 100. In the end, Nielson is very happy that this did not go through. “I am now very grateful of course that it has not really broken through, because then you will never get rid of that stamp”, says Nielson “I would probably have become very rich – because Studio 100, everything they do … – but happy became it doesn’t.”

Rap always has a special place in his heart. Nielson says in the podcast: “I sometimes write raps at home for fun, it’s also a kind of training for me. I think it’s important to keep it in, because it’s my whole base. The rhythm is very important to me. important and I believe that a song, of course the message of a song is very important, but if it doesn’t sound good… then it doesn’t stick.”
