Ten Boer – The Jannes Nijboer run was prey for Athletics Club Fivelstreek. Several athletes from the Delfzijlster association were on the podium in Ten Boer.
The weather conditions were favorable to the athletes and that was not unpleasant after the hot days of recent times. Demian Zijlstra has been in good shape for some time and continued his form in Ten Boer. The athlete from Leermens became overall winner in the 10 km in a time of 35.38. He is therefore on course to become the winner of the Ommelander Loopcircuit.
In the same category, his teammate Jorus Nieuwenhuis ran a time of 42.34 and ended up neatly in the top 10. In the men’s 40+ it was Richard van der Meij who also performed well on behalf of Fivelstreek and belonged to the first ten athletes. With a time of 42.06 he seized the 7e Place.
In the men’s 50+ category, Jan ten Hove and Jack Brondsema showed their good side. Ten Hove ran a time of 46.46 and came in 9e spot, while Brondsema covered the 10 km in 49.10. Good for a 14e place.
Among the women, it was Femke Veldman and Mariska Bosch who managed to find their way to the podium. Veldman already won previous victories of the Ommelander Loopcircuit. She was also the first woman to cross the finish line in the 10 km in the 40+ category at the Appingedam City Run. Although the short fast distances do not currently fit into her training schedule for the 50 km of the Run van Winschoten, she again secured a first place with a time of 46.11. Veldman is thus on track to win the Ommelander Loopcircuit. Bosch followed her a few minutes later and ran a creditable time of 51.36. Good for a handsome 2e Place.
Among the recreational users, it was also a woman from AV Fivelstreek who was able to win the 5 km in her name. Suzanne Bosscher was the first woman to cross the finish line in a time of 24.53. It is not the first time that the brand new member of AV Fivelstreek has achieved a podium place. Earlier this year she won the 5 km at the Omloop van Stedum. At the Hippolytusrun Middelstum, Lopster Torenloop and during the Stadsloop Appingedam category 40+ she took second place.
