We don’t need to tell you that life is expensive these days. From electricity to bread and everything in between: prices are skyrocketing. Annoying, especially when you’re having trouble making ends meet. And more and more people are in the same boat. A new survey shows that nearly half of employees are looking for a part-time job to cope with rising prices.

The survey was conducted by comparethemarket.com in the UK. The figures show that as many as 47% of British adults are looking for a part-time job to make it easier to get by.

Fixed costs

Young adults in particular appear to need an extra penny. More than two-thirds of 25- to 34-year-old Brits would consider a part-time job. By the way, that side-hustle can take various forms, from filling out online surveys to selling second-hand clothes or giving tutoring. That gives them an extra 417 pounds or 482 euros per month on average. Unsurprisingly, a large portion of that money goes to fixed costs such as groceries, electricity and gasoline.
