A visit to the Tuesday market in Zottegem is just that little bit more interesting in April. “We are raffling off a nice prize pool,” says Alderman Brecht Cassiman (N-VA).
“The ‘Market Month’ is the perfect opportunity to celebrate both our wonderful market vendors and visitors, especially as our Tuesday market celebrates its 500th anniversary this year,” he said. “Our Tuesday market remains one of the showcases of our city, a thriving market with a wide range.” Last year’s ‘Market Month’ was also a success with no fewer than 2,000 participants in the campaign.
Those participants then and again this year had a chance to win a nice prize pool. “You will receive a flyer with a unique code from participating traders and you will have a chance to win one of the many prizes offered by the City of Zottegem and the Province of East Flanders.” The contents of the prize pool are partly a surprise. “But it already contains at least four city vouchers worth 25 euros, a weekend away in East Flanders, a dinner and a basket of regional products.” A second festive month will follow in May to celebrate 500 years of the Tuesday market.
