Kenneth Perez is shocked by Hirving Lozano’s game against NEC. The Mexican played for PSV in the first half, but according to the analyst, the 28-year-old winger was particularly disappointing in attack. PSV suffered the first Eredivisie defeat of this season in Nijmegen: 3-1.
Lozano returned to Eindhoven last summer, but has regularly disappointed since then. Perez also saw that the Mexican was not feeling well in the match against NEC.
“He does well without the ball. But on the ball… Who is this?”, said Perez ESPN. “It’s been going on a bit too long now to say it’s been a few games.”
“Offensively, he is not a shadow of what he used to be. He really doesn’t pass a corner flag, it’s almost shocking to see. He is unrecognizable. “
Halfway through the match, Lozano was left in the locker room: he was replaced by Malik Tillman. Perez could understand that change. “Because you have to have more offensively. You are simply paralyzed offensively on one side. Not because the right back is so great, but you play like that without self-confidence…”, he refers to Lozano.
“I am quite charmed by Lozano, because he has something different from other wingers. But this has been going on for too long now.”
PSV lost in Nijmegen, but Perez still saw that the Eindhoven team worked hard. “They did everything they could. I didn’t see a team that just let it happen. The only pity is that you don’t become an undefeated champion. That’s what you want, as a PSV. Now you ‘just’ become champion, which is also nice by the way.”
