Europa-Park plans to stage another diving show next summer. Last year a bizarre accident occurred during the performance: the water basin collapsed. Seven were injured. Yet the German amusement park gives production a new chance.
The new entertainment program shows that the diving show Retorno dos Piratas will be performed again in the Portuguese theme area, from Saturday 1 June to Sunday 1 September. The same name, description and image are used as in previous years.
Five actors and two visitors were injured in the accident in August 2023. The basin was located in the pond of the Atlantica SuperSplash water roller coaster, right next to the track. It was a case of “a crack in the wall”Europa-Park said.
External supplier
Management hastened to say that an external supplier was responsible for the safety and quality of the water tank, namely the French company Vertical Limit Event. Apparently Europa-Park is confident that the basin will be strong enough from now on.
