After Mission: Impossible From 1996 he increasingly appeared in larger action films. Just think about Minority Report, The Last Samurai, The War of the Worlds and Jack Reacher. Of The Mummy Cruise hoped to start a new major film series, the failed Dark Universe.
There is no TV series listed under his name as an actor on the IMDb. Even as a producer he has not ventured into a series. However, there is one exception.
In 1993 he appears to have directed an episode of the series Fallen Angels. The individual episodes of Showtime’s neo-noir crime series are based on stories by established crime writers.
The series also starred big names like Gary Oldman, Tom Hanks, Gary Busey, Alan Rickman, James Woods, John C. Reilly and Joe Mantegna.
Cruise directed the episode “The Frightening Frammis” starring Peter Gallagher and Nancy Travis, among others, and was based on a story by Jim Thompson (1906–1977). You can see the episode in the video above.
