McCaffery will turn young Iowa players loose in Creighton road test

Fran McCaffery’s 2-0 Hawkeyes will get a top-10 matchup in their Gavitt Games assignment in Omaha. He also revealed a redshirt decision Monday.

Iowa men’s basketball faces its first real test of the season Tuesday against No. 8 Creighton in Omaha, Neb.

Fox Sports 1 will show the 9:10 pm contest, which is part of the Gavitt Games Big Ten vs. Big East annual event.

The Hawkeyes (2-0) beat Alabama State 98-67 on Friday in Iowa City. Patrick McCaffery led Iowa with 22 points. Creighton (2-0) beat North Dakota State 89-60 on Saturday. Trey Alexander scored 21 to lead the Bluejays.
