A little while ago, Jeremy Vine spoke to Dawn from Belton who described the village as “absolutely mobbed with people, it’s fanastic. He’s going to get a massive cheer. I’ve driven out about a mile out of Belton, he’s got a massive hill to climb and I’m stood at the top here with a great box of freshly backed flapjacks.”

Dawn stayed on the line with Jeremy until she could spot Vernon and crew. Hearing that he was only 600 meters away, Dawn stayed put with her flapjacks.

Jeremy and Dawn shouted “flapjacks!” on air and over the phone as he came up the over the hill. A lorry stopped on the bend, tension was building! The 1PM news had to be put on hold. The suspense!

Finally, Vernon appeared “Hello Jeremy, we’ve got the flapjacks!” ☺️ He then thanked Dawn “Jeremy says I’ve got to give you a big hug so here you go, thank you very much.”
