The NSC leader was on the television program on Thursday evening ON 1. Here he finally gave the redeeming answer to the burning question: does Pieter Omtzigt want to become Prime Minister of the Netherlands? Not an unnecessary question, since Omtzigt’s party is in the lead – with 29 seats – according to the polls.
Where the NSC party leader last Sunday in the RTL-debate was not yet over about his choice, he joined ON 1 a lot clearer. This was in response to several party leaders who were insisting on an answer from the politician. “If they want clarity, this will give them clarity,” Omtzigt said at Op1. The party leader indicates that he has preferred to remain in the House of Representatives ‘for a long time’. As party leader of NSC, the politician feels like a fish in water.
Who then?
By saying that very strange things have to happen if Omtzigt wants to become prime minister, the NSC party leader still leaves the door ajar. The politician cannot answer the question who it should be on behalf of NSC. In any case, according to the politician, putting a smaller coalition partner in the turret is not the intention.
