The council chamber in Hasselt confirmed the arrest of a 31-year-old woman on Friday, who ended up behind bars for the attempted murder of her 35-year-old partner in Leopoldsburg. The emergency services received a call on Monday afternoon, October 30, about a seriously injured person in Nicolaylaan in Leopoldsburg. At the scene they found a seriously injured 35-year-old man who was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. It is currently unclear what exactly happened, but there were indications that the man was a victim of physical violence. Ultimately, the man was out of danger after hospitalization.
The judicial laboratory, the medical examiner and the federal judicial police went to the scene to make the necessary findings. Kempenland police arrested a suspect, a 31-year-old woman from Leopoldsburg. The Limburg public prosecutor’s office requested an investigating judge for a judicial investigation into attempted murder. After questioning, the Hasselt investigating judge decided to arrest the woman and lock her up in prison. Kempenland police zone and FGP Limburg are investigating the case.
