Prizes worth 3,550 euros were awarded in the velodrome
The winners of the de were crowned tonight in the velodrome 3550 Challenge, the collective challenge during “The Sportiest Day” on September 30. The residents were challenged to travel 3,550 km together on the circuit on foot, by bike, scooter, skate, etc. At the same time, they had a chance to win a prize pool worth 3,550 euros. These prizes were awarded by lot and were therefore presented tonight by mayor Mario Borremans, alderman of Sport Lode Schops, cycling manager Marc Wauters and city marketing manager Anke Bongaerts. Bicycle bags went to Katrien Berden, Bregt Claes and Carla Roets. A cycling jersey from the Tour of Spain, signed by the riders of Soudal-Quickstep, went to Gert Vanhees, a cycling jersey from the Tour of Spain, with the signatures of the riders of Lotto-Destiny, went to Monique Dubois. Benny Mekers and Roger Poelmans went home with 30 euro gift vouchers for CC Muze. Ludo Vermeyen and Jip Macquoi were the winners of duo tickets for the Superprestige cyclocross in Heusden-Zolder, gift vouchers from Middenstand Heusden-Zolder of 50 euros were for Rudi Schops and Paulien Claes. The three young main winners were Lukas Vandervoort, Lewis Caerts and Saar Lenaers. They went home excited with one each voucher for a bicycle at local bicycle dealers Ghislain Cycles, Bolbikes and Bike Inn for 1000 euros.
