At the beginning of this century, Shawn Harris saw an opportunity: selling avocados that you can eat immediately, without waiting for them to soften. Her company Nature’s Pride was the first on the European mainland to start ripening avocados in 2005. In 2016, the American-born handed over day-to-day management when her company had a turnover of hundreds of millions. That same year, Harris started Orange Wings Investments: an investment company that focuses on startups. Four years later, in 2020, Harris rose to national fame for her role as an investor on the TV show Dragons’ Den.
