LAKE CHARLES – All Calcasieu Parish school faculty and staff from Pre-K to the 12th grade are invited to attend, free of charge, to Saturday night’s McNeese’s final home football game of the season when it hosts Houston Christian, for Teacher Appreciation Night. The event is sponsored by Manuel Builders.

Kick-off for the game is 7 pm Gates will open at 5:30.

To receive entry, Calcasieu Parish School Board faculty and staff will need to present their “Building Cowboys for the Future” pass at the entrance while non-CPSB faculty and staff must show their current school ID. Admission is general admission.

This is also component of McNeese Athletics’ partnership with the Calcasieu Parish School Board that was established in October of 2022 between Heath Schroyer, McNeese Director of Athletics, and CBSP Superintendent Dr. Shannon LaFargue.

“Being able to have a day where we honor all of our school teachers in Calcasieu Parish is something I’m really excited about and honored to do,” said Schroyer. “There is no better way to impact a community than through the education of our children. Our teachers have the most impact on our children, thus impacting our community on a daily basis. Having the opportunity to honor them during our homecoming game is something I I’m thrilled to do it.”

Said Dr. LaFargue: “We owe McNeese a great deal of gratitude for our continued partnership and their willingness to expose our students to potential opportunities, and Poke Nation showing appreciation to our teachers and employees for this week’s homecoming game.”
