There is a heavy traffic jam on the A7 between the Avenhorn and Purmerend-Noord exits. Last night a car crashed into the guardrail, causing damage. One of the lanes in both directions is closed for emergency repairs.

A motorist lost control last night and crashed into the guardrail in the central reservation. This morning around 8 a.m. it caused more than an hour’s delay and an approximately 8 kilometer long traffic jam between Hoorn and Zaanstad. Delays are also increasing in the other direction.

Rijkswaterstaat is carrying out emergency repairs and has closed the left lane on both sides. As a result, there is only one lane available in both directions, which also requires slower driving.
