Taipei, Nov. 8 (CNA) Taiwan will experience high temperatures and sunny weather during the day Wednesday, as seasonal northeasterly winds weaken, the Central Weather Administration (CWA) forecast.
Highs of 30-32 degrees Celsius are forecast for western Taiwan, while eastern Taiwan could see highs of 27-29 degrees, according to the CWA.
Temperatures at night are expected to fall to lows of 20-23 degrees around Taiwan, the CWA forecast.
Most of Taiwan will see sunny skies, the CWA said, with scattered showers likely only in eastern Taiwan and the Hengchun Peninsula in southern Taiwan.
Mountainous areas in Taiwan could also experience brief showers in the afternoon, according to the CWA.
In terms of air quality, it will be “good” in eastern Taiwan, “fair” in northern Taiwan, and “unhealthy for sensitive groups” in central and southern Taiwan, according to the Taiwan Air Quality Index, which is updated daily by the Ministry of Environment.
Meanwhile, Nov. 8 is the beginning of winter according to the 24 solar terms, a system invented by ancient Chinese to identify changes of seasons and weather to give farmers guidance. It normally reflects the arrival of cooler weather.
