Gold during the first national qualification for Gymnastics Club PiT
Last weekend
the first national qualification took place in Weert. First division gymnasts Lieke Tollenaar, Katja van Oudenaarden and Noortje Dekker came into action on Saturday. On Sunday it was the turn of the seniors. From the third division these were Jayda Neervoort and Daantje de Vries and from the second division Marleen Epskamp. Quinty van Ingen and Julia Duijst were unable to participate in all-around gymnastics due to an injury.
Youth gymnasts Katja van Oudenaarden and Lieke Tollenaar improved compared to last week, but still made some mistakes. Potential was certainly visible! Tollenaar came 5th and van Oudenaarden 6th.
Junior Noortje Dekker successfully performed her new, more difficult program on bars, but had to suffer a fall on floor, which put the podium just out of reach. Dekker finished fourth.
Jayda Neervoort and Daantje de Vries held their own very well among the many seniors in the third division. Neervoort turned to competence with a positive mindset. With very little difference from the podium, Neervoort finished fourth, which was of course a shame, but also very good. de Vries was strong on bars and floor, but suffered a fall on beam, which meant that the podium was no longer feasible for her and she finished just behind Neervoort in fifth place.
Marleen Epskamp was allowed to end the weekend in Weert. Not a flawless all-around event, but partly due to a beautiful beam exercise, Epskamp was able to receive the gold. Epskamp thus qualifies directly for the halNK finals.
