Febiac is organizing an alternative to the canceled Motor Show at the Heysel in Brussels. The first edition of Automotive eMotion Summit will take place at the end of February in the Skyhall, the former departure hall, of Brussels Airport.

Autofederation Febiac wants to put the Belgian automotive sector in the spotlight even without the major car show. Hence this new event. They emphatically don’t call it a mini-Car Show. “The design is completely different,” says Kris Gysels, director of public affairs at Febiac.

From 20 to 22 February 2024, the Skyhall in Zaventem will focus on technological innovations in the automotive sector, specifically focused on commercial vehicles, mobility services and their social role today and tomorrow. With, of course, a lot of attention to electric driving.

The manufacturers can present their new or popular models, such as at the Motor Show, but the event is not open to the general public. ‘In other words, you cannot buy tickets, and the event is mainly aimed at professionals, company fleet managers, political policy makers and the media. It is also not a sales salon, you will not be able to order a new car there,” says Gysel. Which manufacturers and other partners will participate will be announced later.

The Motor Show at the Heysel in Brussels will no longer be organized in 2024 because more and more car brands are dropping out.
