Two women were injured in a rear-end collision on Wapenrustlaan in Apeldoorn on Monday afternoon. Both were taken to hospital by ambulance.
The accident happened around 1 p.m. on Wapenrustlaan near Latonalaan. For an unknown reason, the driver of the blue passenger car crashed into the back of his predecessor, who in turn hit the car in front of her. The emergency services, including the fire brigade, were quickly on site. The firefighters took care of the injured driver of the white passenger car while waiting for the ambulance personnel. A passenger in the blue car was also injured.
Paramedics took care of the two injured people, after which they were both transported to hospital by ambulance.
Due to the accident, many emergency services were on site. At least three fire engines, three ambulances and several police cars were on Wapenrustlaan, the massive deployment of the emergency services attracted a lot of attention from local residents and passers-by.
Wapenrustlaan was completely closed off. Traffic had to turn around and take an alternative route.
The two of the three heavily damaged vehicles were towed by a recovery company.
