KAA Gent puts Charleroi in the meat grinder and continues in the wake of Union SG and Anderlecht

--

KAA Gent visited Charleroi. That resulted in an excellent performance, because the Zebras showed themselves to be a small opponent. The Buffaloes thus continue in the wake of Union SG and Anderlecht.

Hein Vanhaezebrouck had alerted his players in advance about the importance of the match against Charleroi. He absolutely wanted to avoid a scenario like against Cercle Brugge. And so there had to be a win in The Black Land.

The coach opted for the same eleven as a week earlier and therefore continued to have confidence, including in his strikers Tissoudali and Cuypers – Gift Orban was therefore again on the bench. There was a change for the home team: Dabbagh lost Morioka.

The home team wanted to get off to a quick start, but very quickly collided with a large wall of KAA Gent. And the Buffalos took control of the match very quickly, with strong play from Tissoudali, who had once again fully emerged.

After about fifteen minutes he scored the first goal himself, after which the 0-2 was much closer than the equalizer. The Zebras were underpowered, Ghent came close to an extra goal several times through Tissoudali, Cuypers and De Sart.

Orban also scores

Koffi made it 0-1 over coffee, after the break a mistake by Marcq in the large rectangle was the final turning point. De Sart was allowed to kick the penalty again after previous misses at Ghent this season and this time converted: 0-2, match played.

In the final phase, Gift Orban was allowed to come on for another fifteen minutes. He also scored 0-3, good for his confidence. The honor saver in minute 97 no longer provided any relief for Charleroi, which must regain its strength. Ghent remains one point behind Anderlecht in third place.
