A new industrial revolution is underway at ‘Gold Divers’. Using new designs, unconventional techniques and never-before-seen dredgers, every prospector in Nome is trying to outsmart the competition this season and extract more gold from the water than ever before.

Shawn Pomrenke has always been ahead of the rest with his innovative boats, but is now struggling with technical defects on his Myrtle Irene at the start. Vernon Adkinson is trying it this year with an unmanned craft that he pilots from what looks like a floating school bus. Chris Kelly also wants to work on an underwater robot, but is still looking for money to complete his project.

Money is also a risk factor for Zeke Tenhoff. The mad scientist has built many striking machines in his life and has now pinned his hopes on a dredging machine with the largest suction installation in Nome. Cost: half a million dollars. So the pressure is high for him to extract enough gold from the water. And then there is Chris McCully who, as the youngest captain, has his sights set on a lucrative season, just like ‘golden oldie’ Emily Riedel. Which innovative captain will become the captain of industry this year and dive for the most gold?
