The local party Inzet from Lille rewarded the volunteers of the plant weekend for Kom Op Tegen Kanker with the Green Plume. “We greatly appreciate their volunteer work,” says Gie Knockaert, chairman of Inzet.
The majority party Inzet from Lille invited the coordinators of the annual plant sale for Kom Op Tegen Kanker to café In Den Eik in Gierle for the presentation of the annual Green Pluim. “Every year we put an organization, volunteer or group of volunteers in the spotlight as a thank you for their commitment to our society,” says Gie Knockaert of Inzet. “This year we would like to put the volunteers of the plant weekend for Kom Op Tegen Kanker in the spotlight. Because we think it is important that people can feel supported even in difficult times, we greatly appreciate their volunteer work.”
The plant sale coordinators received the Green Pluim on behalf of all volunteers. “It is nice that our volunteer work is recognized,” says coordinator Walter Bockx from Gierle. “The campaign mobilizes more than 150 volunteers throughout the municipality of Lille. Together we ensure that more than two thousand plants are sold.” (bvdl)
