Traffic between Boechout and Edegem that passes Hove must take a road diversion into account from Monday. Fiberklare will start working in the center and the Edegemsestraat will also be closed at the Mechelsesteenweg.
The Roads and Traffic Agency has been working on the reconstruction of the cycle paths along the Mechelsesteenweg for several weeks. From Monday, November 6, this construction site will be located at the Mechelsesteenweg – Edegemsestraat intersection. Edegemsestraat will be closed to all traffic until the end of November.
Through traffic is diverted along Leliestraat, Wouwstraat and Groenstraat or along Jan Frans Gellyncklaan, Leon Dumortierstraat and Geelhandlaan. Cyclists can take the F1 cycle highway or the slow road along ‘t Of in Hove.
Fiber optic network
A contractor will also start on Monday with the construction of a fiber optic network on behalf of Fiberklare. These works also start in Edegemsestraat. This is followed by Kapelstraat, Sint-Leureysplein, Lintsesteenweg, Boechoutsesteenweg and Mortselsesteenweg.
The first ten working days will take place in Edegemsestraat and Kapelstraat. The greatest nuisance will probably occur in Kapelstraat during phase three, after six working days. A one-way system will be introduced between Leliestraat and Vincent Bavaisstraat for a few days. Motorized traffic is diverted along Leliestraat, Wouwstraat, Mortselsesteenweg and Kapelstraat.
