RUMFORD, R.I. – The annual Coaches vs. Cancer Breakfast featuring the four men’s basketball head coaches from the state of Rhode Island was held on Friday at Wannamoisett Country Club. Brown men’s basketball head coaching chair Mike Martin ’04 was honored for his amazing work with Coaches vs. Cancer and the American Cancer Society.

A surprise to coach Martin, the event raised more than $25,000 for the American Cancer Society. Last month, Brown hosted the New England Basketball Coaches vs. Cancer Clinic at the Pizzitola Sports Center.

The Bears begin their season on Monday, November 6 on the road, taking on 2023 Patriot League champion Colgate.
