Stay (Never Leave) makes the fastest move up

--

Iñigo Quintero remains lord and master of the Streaming Top 40. Without traditional promotion and publicity, his piano ballad Si No Estás went viral on TikTok a few weeks ago and is now also the most streamed track on Spotify worldwide. Si No Estás is number 1 for the third week in the entire streaming picture in the Netherlands.

Just like last week, Greedy by Tate McRae and Prada by Cassö, Raye & D-Block Europe took silver and bronze respectively in the Streaming Top 40. It is otherwise relatively quiet in the top 10. Tyla’s exotic track Water moves up one place to number 4. Vois Sur Ton Chemin’s techno mix reaches a new peak. Bennet rises from 8 to number 6 and Teddy Swims is also not standing still and, just like last week, rises one place, now to number 9 with Lose Control.

Tom Odell will reach 80 weeks next week with Another Love. This week we see his classic song rise from 19 to 15. In the second week of February this year we last found the track in the top 15 of the Streaming Top 40. With the upcoming all-time lists in prospect, Another Love could be streamed more, with perhaps another top 10 ranking in the Streaming Top 40. The fastest rise this week is for Kris Kross Amsterdam. With the help of Sera and Conor Maynard, Stay (Never Leave) sprints from 35 to number 24 with a streaming super spot. In Sera’s young career, Stay (Never Leave) is now her highest streaming rating.

We welcome three newcomers this week and all these first weeks are homegrown. Since the beginning of September, the men of Racoon have once again had an English-language asset in their hands with Nickel For Goodbye. With Ocean, the Zeelanders have created a Dutch classic to their name that still has a chance of entering the Streaming Top 40. Ocean has now reached almost 80 million streams on Spotify in 10 years. With their Dutch-language comeback single Het Is Al Laat Toch, they scored their biggest streaming hit in the list in April 2021 (#9). According to Racoon singer Bart van der Weide, Nickel For Goodbye is about “how filthy rich and very happy he could have been if he got a nickel for every mistake, insecurity or stupid decision.” In the Streaming Top 40 it is at least a Nickel For Hello for Bart and the band. They come in highest at number 33.

Zoë Tauren is busy on the hit front. She has now reached the top 10 of the Streaming Top 40 three times in a short time, with Therapy (#4) becoming her first real solo hit. The 26-year-old singer, who was the support act for Coldplay in the Johan Cruijff Arena in July this year, wants to deal with love partners who are not honest with you in her latest single Monster. The Monster that creeps into a relationship. The track was released last Friday and based on only weekend streams, Monster is cautiously creeping into the Streaming Top 40 at number 38.

Four Nederhoppers are at the forefront of the Streaming Top 40. Last Friday, Schakelen, the new track by rapper Djaga Djaga, was released. The rapper was in the Streaming Top 40 for the first time with Ride Or Die, a track from 2019 that he recorded in prison. For his new track Schakelen, he enlisted the help of well-known fellow rappers Lijpe (who now scores his 38th (!) hit in the Streaming Top 40), Josylvio and Boef. The track is a preview of the album Damaged, which will be released this week.

Fifty-two weeks ago, Stiekem van Maan & Goldband entered both the Dutch and the Streaming Top 40. In the Dutch Top 40, the track has now become the biggest Dutch-language hit of all time, with 32 weeks in the list, including 9 weeks at number 2. In the Streaming Top 40 they are secretly even more successful: 3 weeks at number 1 and this week a back to number 34. What endurance.
