AMD lowers suggested retail prices for Radeon RX 6000 cards

AMD set new suggested retail prices for the Radeon RX 6000 series on September 15. This serves two purposes, namely a better position against the also-reduced RTX 3000 cards and selling out the generation as the next series is announced on November 3rd. The results of the cuts are now starting to show at major US retailers.

The flagship model, the RX 6950 XT, now costs $949, and the 6900 XT $699. The latter performs within 5 percent of the flagship, but is a lot cheaper with the $250 lower price. The 6800 XT again follows within 5% in terms of performance, but at $599. The 6800 non-XT is $50 cheaper.

In the lower segment, the RX 6750 XT has been reduced to $419, and the 6700 XT to $379. The 6650 XT and 6600 XT cost $299 and $239, respectively. At the very bottom, the 6500 XT starts at $169 and the RX 6400 starts at $149. This is in stark contrast to Nvidia’s new flagship product, the Ada Lovelace-generation RTX 4090, which is set to rack up an MSRP of $1,600.
