Things are going well with Valve’s hardware; the Steam Deck is going like a train and the maker is even thinking of a successor. But that doesn’t mean they don’t make games at Valve anymore. In fact, “a lot of people [bij Valve] are working on games,” says product designer Greg Coomer in conversation with the Japanese Famitsu.
“We’re not going to stop making games. Valve has a lot of games in development. We’ll keep releasing games. [..] The percentage of employees who work on games is high,” said Coomer.
Whether Half-Life 3 will ever come, well, that’s still one of the greatest mysteries on our planet. But there’s more Half-Life coming anyway, Coomer says. “The short answer is yes, there is more to say about the Half-Life world. Alyx is a sign that Valve has more to say about it.” Unfortunately, Coomer cannot or will not say when we can expect a new Half-Life game.
Coomer adds that he would like to create a new Portal himself. He thinks there’s still plenty to tell about the Portal world, and that there are still a lot of unanswered questions that fans “deserve explanations about”.
