This is the Sony Xperia 5 IV: compact flagship from 1049 euros

Sony has unveiled its latest flagship. The Xperia 5 IV is a compact smartphone with powerful hardware, wireless charging and a hefty price tag. The device is again quite compact due to the 6.1-inch-120Hz screen, but the display is a lot brighter, according to Sony. This allows you to read the screen better in bright sun. The company again chooses not to use a camera hole or notch, but there is a thin bezel above and below the screen. An important improvement of the Sony Xperia 5 IV compared to its predecessor(s) has to do with the battery. The battery is a lot bigger with 5000 mAh, but can now also charge wirelessly. We have already seen this feature on, for example, the larger (and more expensive) Xperia 1 IV.

Nokia G60 official, X30 5G and T21 tablet also make debut

The G60 is a new affordable smartphone from Nokia for the mid-range. The housing is made of 60 percent recycled plastic and you get a three-year warranty, Android upgrades and security updates. This makes it the first phone in the G-series, previously this was only available on devices from the X-line. The Nokia G60 comes on the market in black and gray and has an IP52 certification, making it resistant to some dust and water. The chip is the Snapdragon 695, which we know from the affordable OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite and Poco X4 Pro. That means that there is also 5G support; good for the future. A successor to the affordable Nokia T20 tablet has also been shown. We are talking about the Nokia T21 with an entry price of 249 euros.

‘This is when Samsung releases the Android 13 update’

samsung galaxy s21 ultra review

When will Samsung release the Android 13 update? It looks like the major software upgrade will be made available in October. Twitter user redderSuper claims that One UI 5.0, the Samsung software based on Android 13, will be released on October 17 or 19. RoderSuper is not a very well-known name in ‘smartphone land’, so we take the information with a grain of salt for the time being. The Android 13 update must first appear for the Samsung Galaxy S22, S22 Plus and S22 Ultra. These are the current top devices of the manufacturer. It is still unknown which phones will be next. Samsung usually updates the more expensive smartphones in the Galaxy S and Z line first, and then comes with upgrades for cheaper Galaxy A phones.

Huawei presents Nova 10 (Pro): midrange devices are coming to Europe

Huawei Nova 10 official

Two Huawei phones were unveiled at the IFA 2022 technology fair in Berlin. It concerns the Nova 10 and Nova 10 Pro, which should also appear in Europe. Whether and when they will also come to the Netherlands is still unclear. The Huawei Nova 10 phones have a Snapdragon 778 processor, which we see more often in mid-range smartphones. Think, for example, of the Samsung Galaxy A52s, Motorola Edge 20 and the necessary Xiaomi phones. Unfortunately, the Huawei phones don’t support 5G internet, so you’ll have to make do with 4G. If we look at the design, we see a large screen with thin edges, with a small camera hole at the top. With the Nova 10 Pro, the notch is larger, because there are two selfie cameras.
