Blizzard is working on a new mysterious game and is pulling the plug on the World of Warcraft Companion app

--

Blizzard Entertainment announced earlier this year that Project Odyssey was canceled, a survival game that a large team had been working on for several years. Today there is good news again, because Blizzard has officially started developing a new game.

What exactly this will be is still a mystery. This could again be a new IP such as Project Odyssey, but there is a greater chance that we are dealing with a new game in an existing Blizzard franchise such as Warcraft, StarCraft, Diablo and Overwatch. Blizzard currently has several vacancies online where they are looking for 6 directors for the new project, including a game and a narrative director. Since the project leaders have yet to be determined, it is very likely that this game is still in a very early concept phase.

World of Warcraft companion app goes offline

Blizzard has further decided to discontinue the World of Warcraft companion application. The will no longer be supported, Blizzard announced in a blog update. With the release of the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion The War Within, the application will go offline. the World of Warcraft companion application will then no longer be usable, downloadable and will no longer receive updates.

The World of Warcraft companion application was released in 2018 for WoW players. Gamers could use this to keep track of various stats, the auction house was available with which you could sell items to other players, it was possible to view missions and get information about factions.

World of Warcraft is playable on PC via Blizzard’s Battle.net launcher.
