game reviewWe played ‘Just Dance 2024’ on the Nintendo Switch, but the game is also playable on other platforms such as the PS5 & the Xbox Series S/X. For those who have been living under a rock for the past 15 years: ‘Just Dance’ is about imitating your coach’s dance and collecting points by imitating the dance steps as best as possible. On the Switch, the Joy-Cons are used for this and by God, those strings to tie them around your wrists are handy & welcome, or the TV would need to be replaced. On other platforms such as the PS5 or the Xbox Series
After a smooth installation of version 2024, we were able to conclude that little has changed in the previous edition that is also in our game box. The interface feels familiar & when first scrolling through the music, we notice that there are many extra songs in the catalog (of course after activating the Just Dance+ subscription). If, like us, you also have Edition 2023, the music from this version will also be visible: nice! In addition to older songs such as “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” by the late Whitney Houston, you can also find a series of modern hits to shake up to such as “Flowers” by Miley Cyrus or “Can’t Tame Her” by Zara Larsson. However, there is quite a lot of music behind the Just Dance+ subscription that you can take out & it feels to us a bit like “easy money” for Ubisoft: there are not so many visible changes compared to the previous version, which for the already limited upgrade had to buy a new game and then another subscription?
However, we don’t let it get to our hearts and start working on the game with enthusiasm. Several new modes have been added, such as Challenge Mode where you can challenge friends, but Workout Mode has also made a comeback: many people used Just Dance as a fun way to get a workout in, but couldn’t keep up with what they were doing. they had now done. So that problem has been solved!
A nice collaboration is also with the Château de Versailles: “A Night in the Château de Versailles” can be danced in the famous castle, on the occasion of the Olympic Games that will take place in Paris in 2024.

Verdict: 8/10
All in all, we are very satisfied with this new version in the series, but that is mainly because we were able to work with the Switch’s Joy-Cons. It is not very innovative compared to the previous version, but that should not spoil the fun: Let’s Dance!
