Mario fans are in for quite a treat. Last month the fantastic Super Mario Bros. was released. Wonder, a new mainline 2D platformer. This month, fans can look forward to a new Mario game: Super Mario RPG Remake.
The release is in just over two weeks, but the international gaming media and some influencers have already had the opportunity to get started with a few hours of playing time.
Several gameplay videos from the hands-on sessions have been uploaded to YouTube and we have listed them for you. The previews are quite positive about the improved presentation and retention of the charm of the original. Some media outlets are concerned about dated gameplay mechanics that could perhaps have been better modernized.
In the year 1996, Nintendo and JRPG experts Square-Enix teamed up to develop Super Mario RPG. The game was well received and a success, but no sequel, remaster or remake was ever released. Nintendo wanted to make all Mario projects in the sequel themselves. After a lot of demand and gamers who had given up hope, Nintendo suddenly announced last summer that there would be a full-fledged remake of Super Mario RPG. In this game, playable characters Mario, Peach and Bowser go on an adventure to repair the Star Road.
Fans won’t have to wait long to get started with Super Mario RPG. The game will be available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch from November 17, 2023.
