Ceiling islands create almost unlimited design possibilities that can be mounted on any structural ceiling. Under the motto: “Mounted anywhere – inspired by design” you will find solutions that can be moved quickly, flexibly and easily as desired.
Acoustics
Because they are mounted in one piece (and are therefore open on all sides and sound-absorbing), ceiling islands have a larger sound-absorbing surface than conventional ceiling solutions.
Modern
Ceiling islands respond perfectly to the contemporary trend. With these products you can play with shapes, give spaces depth, size and rhythm. Architects can thus follow the trend towards open and modern, clear space structures.
Ceiling islands are available in various materials from the Knauf Ceiling Solutions range. All ceiling islands can be hung individually or in groups and are available in (Variodesign) colours. By using the unique Knauf Ceiling Solutions suspension system, all islands and baffles can be combined with each other, regardless of shape and material type.

MINERAL Sonic Element
is a frameless ceiling island that is provided with a fleece and color coating on the visible side and edges. It has a thickness of 40 mm and is available in the following versions:

MINERAL Sonic Line Arc
is a curved ceiling island with an aluminum frame and is available in a concave or convex version. The panel thickness is 35 mm and available in the following dimensions:

METAL Sonic Element
A rectangular metal ceiling island, which can also be installed as a wall solution.
It is fully configurable and available as
- 90° – 50° – 20×20 mm edge finish.
- Panel thickness: 40 mm
- Panel length: 600 – 1800 mm
- Panel width: 600 – 1200 mm
This type of island is also available in expanded metal version MESH Sonic Element MT.
METAL Sonic Element Arc
a curved ceiling island is available in concave or convex design. The visible sides have an extra-micro perforation for a smooth appearance, while the standard perforation on the back of the panel provides better sound absorption. Available in the standard dimensions:
- Concave: 1890 x 1181 x 40 mm
- Convex: 1890 x 1181 x 40 mm
METAL Sky Element Clip or Hook
These are modular acoustic ceiling islands consisting of rectangular metal panels that are clamped (= Clip-in) or hung (=Hook). The modular construction offers maximum flexibility. In combination with the matching hanging system, it also allows installation with a minimum hanging height, without the need for additional technical work.

Wood wool – HERADESIGN®
HERADESIGN® Sonic Element
is a frameless ceiling island made of wood wool with a Superfine finish. (1 mm fiber thickness) It has a thickness of 35 mm and is available in the following versions:

HERADESIGN® Sky Element
is a frameless modular ceiling island consisting of rectangular panels and corner pieces made of wood wool. Available in the surface structure Fine, Fine A2, Superfine, or Superfine A2. It is fully configurable and available with edge finishes AK01, GK or AK-02/5.
Dimensions of the aluminum profile are 56 / 42 / 3000 mm.
