Thierry Henry will take care of the honors on the Belgian sideline against the Netherlands on Sunday. The Football Association has just announced this. The Frenchman takes over the duties of the suspended national coach Roberto Martinez once.

In the final game against Wales, national coach Roberto Martinez received a red card yesterday. Martinez held a ball a little too long, preventing Wales from quickly resuming play. He was unceremoniously relegated to the stands.

Even then, Thierry Henry was allowed to act as head coach for a few minutes. In the last group match against the Netherlands, the Frenchman will take on that function for an entire match. Martinez has been suspended, as a result of which Henry moves up a place.

The ex-top striker will be assisted on Sunday by the two other Belgian assistants Anthony Barry and Thomas Vermaelen. In principle, the match is of little importance. Only through a very big win against the Netherlands can Belgium still qualify for the Final 4 of the Nations League.
