Paul-José Mpoku played in the gala match with Ronaldinho and was allowed to put on the Standard jersey once again. The attacking midfielder spoke up La Dernière Heure about his future. He has found a new club.
“My situation? I signed with a new club for December. I will discover a new club, a new competition, a new country. I am really looking forward to it. In the meantime I am training with the U23 of Standard. I also want thank the club for letting me train with them. I almost signed for 5 months in Belgium, until I could start working at my new club, but that didn’t happen,” said Mpoku. The 30-year-old Mpoku has played in the past in England (Leyton Orient and Tottenham), Belgium (Standard), Greece (Panathinaikos), Italy (Chievo Verona and Cagliari), Turkey (Konyaspor) and the United Arab Emirates (Al- wahda). However, he did not announce his next destination yet.
The fans of Standard secretly hoped that Mpoku would still sign with the Rouches, but trainer Ronny Deila quickly announced that he wanted other types of players. Mpoku played in the gala match with Ronaldinho and he even gave a nice assist to the former top player of FC Barcelona.
