Royal Antwerp continues to amaze the whole of Belgium. With 27 out of 27 they can still present a perfect report in the competition. Only the loss in the preliminary round of the Conference League already showed that they are not unbeatable at Antwerp this season.

However, this is about to change. The leader in the Jupiler Pro League was unable to win against RKC Waalwijk from the Dutch Eredivisie on Wednesday. Even more: Antwerp lost the match with 1-2.

It must be said that Antwerp missed some strong points because of their international obligations. For example, Alderweireld, Ekkelenkamp and the Ecuadorian duo were not there for the game against the eighth from the Eredivisie.

The keeper of Antwerp — Ortwin De Wolf — managed to save two penalties throughout the match, but to no avail. After an early opening goal from Fischer, the Great Old was unable to score. RKC Waalwijk was able to prick the ball against the nets twice more, so they managed to win the match with 1-2.

Setup:

De Wolf – Bataille (46′ Krasniqi) – Almeida – Van Den Bosch (78′ Abderahmane) – De Laet – Nainggolan – Avila – Gerkens (46′ Da Silva) – Stengs (46′ Degallaix) – Fischer (78′ Murataj) – Nsimba (46′ Vanhees)
