It is currently pretty quiet at the Club Brugge training center in Westkapelle. For example, coach Carl Hoefkens saw no fewer than sixteen players from his selection swarm out to their national teams. Also in Denmark, two strong players from Bruges reported to the appeal.
Casper Nielsen was rewarded with a selection for his good start with the national champion. And of course Andreas Skov Olsen was also called up for the upcoming international matches. The 22-year-old winger was still one of the stars of the Danes during the Nations League section in June and already seems almost certain of his selection for the World Cup. That has not least to do with his transfer to Club Brugge.
After a difficult period at Bologna, Skov Olsen found his best form again at Blauw-Zwart. Something he confirmed again in an interview with bold.dk. “You can’t compare it with my situation at Bologna, because at Club Brugge I feel important in the team,” it sounds. “My playing pleasure is back and that is the most important thing for a footballer.”
CONFIDENCE OF HOEFKENS
Last summer we had to wait and see how the coach change would turn out for Skov Olsen, but the collaboration with Carl Hoefkens is also going very smoothly for him. “The coach thinks I’m a good player and wants the game to pass through me often. I also feel that I get a lot more space to do the things I’m good at.”
